How To Check Your
iPhone Model Name?
|
|
Apple has launched over 30 different iPhone models to date, starting from the first iPhone that was released in 2007. Each model comes with something new, exciting and innovative, but each also looks strikingly similar, which can make it difficult to tell one phone apart from another.
If you’ve recently purchased a used iPhone or are thinking about selling yours for a newer model and want to know more about your handset, how do you find out what type of device you actually have?
Here are some simple ways to tell the difference between iPhone models.

Method 1: Identify Model Name from Settings
- Go to the Settings app.
- Tap General.
- Scroll down to the About.

Method 3: Identify Model Number from the SIM tray slot
(On iPhone 8 or later)
Remove the SIM tray and look in the SIM tray slot. Make sure that you're in a place with bright light overhead. The model number is on the upper side – the side with the display.
Once you identified the model number, you can match with the model name on the chart below.
